PACE PSYCHOLOGY | PYEONGTAEK, SOUTH KOREA
Insurance for Therapy & Psychological Evaluations
You’re welcome to begin with an initial consultation, even if you’re unsure about your insurance. We can discuss the care you’re looking for, then review your plan’s coverage, authorization requirements and billing options.
Psychotherapy and psychological evaluations are available in English and Korean. Whether you prefer English or Korean, we can review your plan’s requirements for the proposed service.
Start with a conversation
01
Initial consultation
Meet with Dr. Kim to discuss your concerns and possible next steps. You do not need to have every insurance question answered before this introductory conversation.
02
Review your plan
With your permission, we can contact the insurer using the details on your card. If documents are needed, we’ll explain how to share them securely through the Client Portal.
03
Confirm arrangements
We review the proposed service, any required approvals and your share of the cost. A Guarantee of Payment (GOP) can be requested when applicable, before services you intend to claim.
Please do not send insurance card images, member numbers or medical records through the general website contact form or ordinary email.
What needs to be confirmed?
Coverage for your care
We check the exact plan and proposed service, such as outpatient psychotherapy or a psychological evaluation. ADHD or autism testing, online sessions, referrals, provider eligibility and treatment in South Korea may each have separate requirements.
Costs and payment
Deductibles, copayments, coinsurance, benefit limits and exclusions affect what you may pay. PACE has not yet confirmed direct billing with any insurer. If it cannot be arranged, you may need to pay PACE and request reimbursement under your policy.
Prior authorization and GOP
Prior authorization concerns approval for a service. A GOP sets out a payment arrangement for specified care. Neither your insurance card nor a request alone confirms payment; the insurer’s response and any conditions need to be reviewed.
Documents and timing
The insurer may request both sides of your card, an estimate, a referral, treatment information or a clinical report. With your permission, we can clarify what is needed. Required approval should be obtained before the service you intend to claim.
Guidance for your insurance plan
The summaries below describe insurers’ published procedures, not confirmed PACE partnerships or a guarantee of coverage. Use the company and product shown on your card. Different policies under the same brand can have different rules.
Foreign Service Benefit Plan (FSBP)
FSBP members receiving care overseas can submit claims through the AFSPA Member Portal. Keep itemized bills and follow AFSPA’s overseas claims instructions. Direct billing is available at participating locations, but PACE’s arrangement is not confirmed. We can review your plan’s benefits and any approval requirements after your initial consultation.
Cigna Global
Cigna Global’s individual and family guidance asks members to contact Customer Care before treatment so it can review the arrangements and organize direct payment where possible. If you pay yourself, submit eligible expenses and supporting documents through the secure Customer Area. Employer plans may use a different route.
Aetna International
Use your Aetna International member website or app to review coverage, download authorization forms, and submit or track reimbursement claims. Check the plan and product shown on your ID card. After your initial consultation, we can help clarify the requirements for your proposed care at PACE.
BCBS Global Solutions (GeoBlue)
GeoBlue is now Blue Cross Blue Shield Global Solutions. Members can request Direct Pay through the portal, app or number on their card, at least 48 hours before the appointment. Out-of-network requests may be considered, but approval and provider acceptance are still needed. Other BCBS products can follow different procedures.
TieCare International
Use the TieCare Member Portal to review plan details, submit or track claims, and request pre-authorization. Coverage and approval requirements depend on your plan. After your initial consultation, we can help clarify what applies to the proposed service and how payment will be handled.
Bupa Global
Check your membership guide and Table of Benefits to see whether the proposed treatment needs pre-authorization. Bupa Global’s MembersWorld supports authorization requests and claims. Direct settlement depends on the arrangements confirmed with Bupa and the provider; otherwise, eligible paid expenses can be submitted for reimbursement.
AXA Global Healthcare
For outpatient care, AXA members may need to pay on the day and claim through their online account. Keep the invoice and payment receipt. Direct payment is arranged where possible, subject to the provider and policy. Confirm approval requirements and the payment route before relying on insurance for care at PACE.
Allianz Care
For psychiatry and psychotherapy, Allianz Care directs members to their Table of Benefits and Benefit Guide for coverage, limits, referrals and pre-authorization requirements. Counseling and other services may be treated differently. Eligible expenses can be submitted through MyHealth when direct settlement is not available.
UnitedHealthcare Global
For UnitedHealthcare Global expatriate plans, you can request a Guarantee of Payment before care when direct payment has not already been arranged. Contact the number on your ID card or use the options in your member account. Confirm that this process applies to your policy and care at PACE; it does not apply to every UnitedHealthcare plan.
TRICARE Overseas
You’re welcome to ask about a TRICARE review. Payment requires an eligible service and a TRICARE-authorized provider; PACE’s status is not confirmed. Active duty members generally need referral and authorization for civilian mental health care, while other beneficiaries may have different rules. Confirm the clinician, location, service and approvals with International SOS before relying on TRICARE payment.
Official guidance reviewed 7 November 2026. Procedures can change. Your current policy documents and the insurer’s written response govern your individual case.
Your plan isn’t listed? You’re still welcome to begin with a consultation. We can review the insurer and product shown on your card rather than assuming that coverage is unavailable.
Let’s discuss the next step
Start with an initial consultation with Dr. Kim at PACE Psychology in Godeok, Pyeongtaek. Together, we can discuss your needs and what to check with your insurer. Online psychotherapy is available within South Korea; psychological evaluations take place in person.
