Workshops & Group Therapy

Interactive workshops and group therapy inquiries in English and Korean with Dr. Minsu Kim. Based in Pyeongtaek, PACE Psychology welcomes schools, workplaces, community organizations, individuals, and families.

Educational workshops and group therapy serve different purposes. We’ll discuss your audience or personal goals before deciding which format fits.

Workshops for schools and organizations

Sessions combine brief explanations with activities, small-group discussion, and time for questions. The topic and format are shaped around the people taking part, rather than a fixed lecture.

Learning through participation

I’ve taught in universities in English and Korean and led sessions in companies, schools, and community settings. Some of my most rewarding workshops brought older adults into small groups to reflect on their lives, or helped parents discuss preparing for life after COVID.

I see my role as facilitating the conversation: giving participants enough information to begin, then making room to try an activity, share perspectives, and ask questions.

For a workshop, tell us your audience, topic, preferred timing, and goals. Format and fees are quoted for the agreed scope.

ADHD parent education and learning needs

ADHD parent education is a particular focus of my work. We can discuss the challenges parents see in attention, follow-through, learning, and everyday interactions, and how to think about support at home and school. Content is adapted to the audience’s questions and the child’s developmental context.

Questions an ADHD parent workshop can explore

Why can a child understand an instruction but still struggle to follow through? What makes homework, transitions, or daily routines difficult? How can parents understand the difficulty and identify a useful next step? These are examples of questions we can shape a workshop around.

Understanding developmental and learning differences

Workshops can also address school-related difficulties associated with intellectual disability, specific learning disorders, and other neurodevelopmental needs. The emphasis is on understanding the person’s difficulties in context and discussing support, rather than using a workshop to diagnose an individual child.

Plan a workshop for your community

Schools and parent communities

A session can bring parents or school staff together around a shared question, such as understanding ADHD or responding to learning and developmental differences. Please describe the age group, audience, and concerns you want the session to address.

Workplaces and community organizations

I have delivered talks and participatory sessions in companies, universities, and community or welfare centers. For a new request, we discuss whether the proposed topic fits my experience and what participants should take away.

From inquiry to a suitable format

Share your intended audience, topic, language, preferred timing, and approximate group size. We can then discuss the balance of information, activities, small-group conversation, and questions. Duration, delivery arrangements, and fees are confirmed for the agreed workshop scope.

Group therapy

Clinical groups bring people together to work on shared treatment goals. Ask about potential PTSD and trauma-focused groups, or groups addressing children’s social and emotional skills. Contact us to check current availability and whether a group would be a good fit.

My experience includes leading therapy groups for veterans and children, social-skills groups, DBT skills groups, and parent education. That background informs how I guide participation while keeping the group focused on its purpose.

Before joining, we would discuss the group’s focus, participant fit, schedule, fees, and confidentiality. Group therapy is separate from an educational workshop.

Considering a therapy group?

PTSD and trauma-focused group inquiries

I have extensive experience facilitating therapy groups for veterans. If you are hesitant about individual therapy or have tried it without finding it helpful, you are welcome to ask whether a group approach might suit your needs. A group is another format to consider, not a promise that it will be the right option for everyone.

Children’s groups and skills-focused work

For children’s groups or skills-focused work, ask about the focus, ages, and participation requirements of any available program. The experience described here is not a list of groups currently enrolling.

A clear purpose and participation expectations

A clinical group has treatment goals and a defined participant group. Before deciding whether to join, ask about the activities, expected participation, group agreements, and how the work relates to your own needs. Practical arrangements depend on the specific program.

Questions about workshops and groups

How is a workshop different from group therapy?

A workshop is educational and organized around an audience and topic. Group therapy is a clinical service focused on participants’ treatment goals. Attendance at a workshop does not itself provide an individual assessment or establish that a therapy group is suitable.

Are groups currently accepting participants?

Please inquire about current options. A group’s focus, age range, schedule, and availability need to be confirmed before enrollment. This page describes areas of experience and the kinds of inquiries PACE welcomes.

Do you offer workshops in English and Korean?

Yes. I have taught at universities in both languages. Please specify the language your participants need when discussing a workshop.

What should I include in my inquiry?

Organizations can send the audience, topic, and preferred timing. For a therapy-group inquiry, a brief description of the kind of support you are seeking is enough to begin. Avoid sending detailed personal histories or other sensitive clinical information in ordinary email.

Not sure which format fits?

Tell us what you are hoping to arrange or the kind of support you are looking for, and we can discuss an appropriate next step.
